Ramblings of an Idle Soul

This is my special moment. Don't question me, or disagree

Its interesting being single for so long. After a while people look at it as their job to set you up with someone. Its been about a year and a half since I've had a girlfriend or gone on a date.

I know, sounds pathetic. But that doesn't mean I haven't seen ANY action in that time period. I'm not about to get into that though, sorry. LOL

Anyway, I am looking forward to this date. Even if it seems to be taking some time to set up :) - This is what happens when you let women run the show . . .

Wanted: One Vixen to rub my aching feet

Today was a long day. I worked my usual shift at the Sev, 4pm - 12pm, and didn't move for about 5 hours. I despise Slurpee's. I loath Slurpee's. From the very depths of my soul and by Great Odin's Raven do I HATE SLURPEE'S.

but it was a pretty interesting day to say the least. A girl I work with is going to try and set me up with someone. The last time this happened it was a blind date that got all screwed up. But this time I know who it is ahead of time. I never even really thought of her in that sense before, mostly because I was sure she had a boyfriend, but definetly wouldn't mind a chance to get to know her better.

Oh man do my feet hurt. LOL Best not get my hopes up over a vixen to rub my feet. Even when I was engaged I never could get a decent foot rub. Oh I didn't tell you I was engaged once? Well maybe I'll blog it another time, right after my "Master Plan"!

World of Experience

An interesting opertunity has come up. It is one of those crazy ideas that cause you to risk it all at the chance to gain it all. Ok, maybe not quite that dramatic but I will have to quite my job.

My roomate Stu, who has his own blog Diary of a Madmen, came back from a visit to his home town with this crazy idea. He suggested that he and I, along with a friend of his from back home, travel BC working shutdowns at mills for about 2 - 3 months to bank some cash. It sound like a great idea from the get go, but I do have my concerns. I've never traveled like that before, especially when finding work where I was going was the point of the trip.

It seems kinda silly to some people that I would quit a steady, almost full-time job to travel around looking for work for one to two weeks at a time. Well I guess that all depends on how difficult it is to get hired on for a shutdown. I've never done it before and have zero experience in the field, which can be listed as another concern of mine. I have this "Master Plan" that requires me to take a chance like this to pull it off. If things go well I will earn enough money to pay my way through university which is step 1 of my "Master Plan".

Maybe I'll blog it one day . . .

Play it loud!!

Those who know me, or claim they do, understand what I mean when I say that a rather epic event happened in my life not too long ago. I am a music fanatic. I love listening to music, and my favorite band to listen to is Rise Against. A couple of weeks ago my roomate Mike, my buddy Jay and I went to Vancouver for a Rise Against concert. It was held in the Commodor Ballroom.

It was AMAZING. I've been to quite a few concerts, 90% of which are punk shows, and nothing has compared to this. There are only two other concerts that can even compare:

  1. KoRn - I saw Korn in Kelowna with Jay. This was actually my first concert ever. It probably would have still been my first favorite concert if I hadn't sat in the bleachers for it. Really regret that . . .
  2. Vans Warped Tour 2004 - It was the 10th aniversary of warped tour but it was my first time seeing the show. Now honestly, the only reason I don't say that this is my favorite concert is because its in a totally different catagory. How can you possibly compare a show with 3 bands to a show with 30 bands? You just can't.
Almost every song I listen to now by Rise Against gives me flashbacks to the concert. I can remember the exact point during "Give it All" that the lead singer dropped the mic and leapt onto the crowd. It was really cool because I was right there holding him up with the rest of the pit. It was a crazy experience that I will not easily forget.

And we're on in 5 . . . 4 . . . 3 . . . 2 . . .

Ok, so starting this whole blog thing wasn't as easy as I thought it was going to be. This isn't even my original first blog! I got rid of it because I think it came out wrong.

Anyway, I am just a 22 year old white male that feels like leaving his ramblings somewhere. What better place than the internet! I doubt I'll talk about anything in mosts interest but meh, its my blog not yours!
